Lawrence Santoro Reviews

I adapted and produced an audio dramatization of Gene Wolfe’s  novella, The Tree Is My Hat.  Later I read his story, The Vampire Kiss for the StarShipSofa.  When I asked him to give me a blurb for this section, he sent this.

Dear Larry,

"Larry Santoro reads my work much better than I wrote it."

Will that do?

Gene

Yep.  That’ll do...  It is, of course, a kindness, a bit of courtly courtesy.  But I appreciate it.  I truly do.

Tony C. Smith at the StarShip asked me to do a little story by a guy whose work I’ve loved and admired for years, Joe R. Lansdale.

Joe said...

“Larry has the tone, the pace, and the panache to make any story come alive.  I love what he did with my story, Godzilla’s Twelve Step Program.”

Eugie Foster, sent this...

Of course I would be absolutely delighted to provide you with a blurb to use on your website.  How 'bout:

"Lawrence Santoro's reading of my novelette, Sinner, Baker, Fabulist, Priest; Red Mask, Black Mask, Gentleman, Beast, for Escape Pod was everything I could have hoped for: evocative, vivid, powerful, and memorable.  I would recommend Lawrence to anyone looking for a gifted and professional voice talent."

Best,

Eugi

…each section of the story is a heightened emotional experience. The intensity of this story was spectacularly captured by Lawrence Santoro, who narrated in a dramatic manner that reminds me of Harlan Ellison. Bravo to author and narrator – a perfect match. A great story, truly worthy of a Nebula.

Benjamin Rosenbaum is truly excellent.  I can’t describe his work to you.  You’ve got to read or hear it.  I’m honored that he said this about my work on his story...

"Larry did a magnificent job narrating my story The Ant King -- capturing the tone of the story and making it come alive"

cheers & good luck with the venture

Ben

From Jeremy Tolbert, former Editor of ESCAPE POD

“Lawrence Santoro has the most expressive narrative style of anyone working in podcast fiction narration today. He brings new depth to any story he reads, and the characters positively come alive through his renditions. Combining his experience as an actor with his work as a writer, Lawrence gets the work in profound ways that other narrators do not."
